IBM


IBM has now attempted to simulate a cat brain , using 47,456 processors and 144 terabytes of ram, the teams computerized cat brain called blu matter unfortunately runs 86 times slower than an actual cat brain. At this rate IBM expects to have a computerized human brain by 2018, these studies are hopeful to further understanding how the brain works and to help computers learn from real world environments and interacting like they are actual beings.

Warner company has a new website which allows users to mail in their used DVDs for a small price of $7.95 in return for a blu ray copy of that movie, free.

Automatic Captioning


Youtube, has now added a new feature that automatically captions any video uploaded to the site. All you have to do is click the "Enable Captions" button at the bottom of the video. This is obviously helpful to the hearing impaired and to help understand videos in other languages.

AOL


AOL has now asked 2,500 employees to voluntarily quit their jobs. The company is restructuring, and now anyone that volunteers will get a larger sufferance package, than anyone who stays, or who is later laid off. And because of this downsize AOL is also selling off MapQuest to Microsoft.

Chrome OS


Google is releasing a new gadget called the Chrome OS, it's a new computer is predicted to take over the inexpensive desktop/laptop market. It has a 7 second boot time, since all of the data is stored in the "magical google cloud".

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just made history, in one day the game sold over 4.7 million copies. Making it the fastest selling video game and one of the biggest entertainment launches EVER. It easily beat Grand Left Auto's wimpy record of 3.7 million copies sold in one day.

Facebook memorials?


Facebook has now set up a feature for the dead. If you pass away and your family and friends request it, facebook will now remember your profile information, resulting in cosmetic and functional changes to the deceased profile. The account will be locked allowing no one to sign on to it, and only the dead users confirmed friends will be able to search them on facebook. The site will also set up status updates and contact information.

Is coming! On November 6, 2009 Verizon is finally releasing the Droid. On sale for $200 it comes with a 3.7 inch touch screen, and 5 mega pixel camera and wifi. It is the first phone developed wit google maps giving you turn by turn directions to your destination.
